Talking Pictures is a visually rich picture pack to support 4 – 7s in learning from religion by talking. The pack provides 31 full-colour images related to Christianity, Islam, Judaism and a wider view of spirituality, extending beyond religious ideas.
Each of the 16 Talking Pictures cards provides a series of questions, from simple initial questions to get children to look closely, to questions that build on their knowledge of the religions pictured, and then extending to more open-ended reflective questions. Information for teachers provides a clear, simple introduction to some of the key beliefs and practices shown in the images.
The accompanying 24-page book includes 24 generic strategies for using pictures with 4 – 7s, linked to the pictures in the pack. There are 13 photocopiable pages for use with the pictures. All the images are on the accompanying disc to support use of the resource with an interactive whiteboard.
